A contract signing ceremony for the establishment of a Television Station for the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) took place on Thursday 4th November 2021 at the General Assembly of the PCG.
Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana signed on behalf of the Church with Rev. Dr. Emmanuel K. Sarbah, Director for Mission and Evangelism at the General Assembly Office and Rev Esther Oduro, Director for Church Life and Nurture witnessed for the Church.
Mr. Dominc Opare Ansa Asare, the Consultant signed on behalf of Music Solution School with Mrs. Wilhelmina Ansa Asare and Mr. Amprofi Agyemang witnessed on behalf of the consultant.
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante in a speech said the new TV channel would be dedicated to religious affairs of Presbyterianism and also to propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He said the decision by the Church to open a TV station was as a result of the television industry being dominated by some unscrupulous, dishonest, crooked and charlatan religious broadcasts, which has dented the image of Christianity.
He said Presbyterian Television channel would offer viewers un-adulterated word of God and offer proper teachings, true Christian doctrines, preaching of the word of God and bring people to the saving-knowledge of Jesus Christ.
The signing of the contract was received by the staff at the General Assembly Office and Ministers of the Church who were present with lots of applause and excitement.
The Moderator said the Presbyterian TV channel, when opened, would live up to expectation as a religious channel to spread the good news.
The Consultant intends to commence work within 10 days of the signing.
Rev Dr. Nii Noi Odonkor expressed appreciation to members of the Technical Committee for the great work done. He urged members of the Church to pray so that the processes will bring glory to God.
Present at the Ceremony were Rev Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, Chairperson for the Ga Presbytery and Chairman of the Technical Committee supervising the establishment of the TV station, Rev Daniel A. Nyarko, immediate past Chairperson for the Ga West Presbytery and the Chairperson for Specialized Committee of the Church, Mr Festus Ohene Kwafo, Director, Administration and Human Resource Management at the General Assembly Office and Mrs. Rosamond Amoako Appenteng, Director of Education and General Manager of the Presbyterian Schools.
